How I Work
Therapy is an opportunity to get 'unstuck', to reflect on our relationship to ourselves, to the world, and to others, in an atmosphere that is safe, warm and encouraging.
Together we can explore what is going on at a cognitive, physical, emotional and relational level, identify sources of strength and creativity, and allow space for different aspects of the self to be more fully known.
My primary training is in integrative psychotherapy, and I undertake regular further training in my areas of particular clinical interest, including neurodiversity, couple relationships, family estrangement, and adults who were parentified or emotionally neglected in childhood.
Who I work with
I work with adult individuals and couples (or other relationship constellations).
Often my clients are intelligent and articulate, but struggle in their emotional lives - they may feel overwhelmed or disconnected, and may struggle to break harmful patterns or make important decisions.
They may experience confusion, conflict or a feeling of being encroached upon in their relationships with others.
I am qualified and registered in the UK. I am currently not able to offer therapy to clients based in the USA.
If you’d like to hear me speak on some common difficulties my clients face, check out my appearance on The Adademic Imperfectionist podcast, and my episodes on perfectionism and procrastination with The Struggling Scientists podcast.
Coaching and Training
In addition to my therapy practice, I offer individual coaching for people seeking support with managing the ebbs and flows of energy and attention, and the emotional challenges of producing creative and intellectual work under pressure.
I also work with further and higher education institutions, STEM employers, and creative organizations, offering bespoke staff and faculty worlshops.
